Well, the album is finally here and if you hated the urban sound, be prepared, because Mauboy favours heavy Beyonce beats over the dance/pop sound heard on her debut album. The album opens with first single Get 'Em Girls which by a track standing on its own isn't horrid by any measure, but the music video just ruined it, so it's a rather bittersweet feeling when you re-listen to the track. The album then moves on to the even more urban sounding Handle It and Accelerate That. The album then prods on mindlessly before landing itself on Scariest Part, a nice ballad that really hits its stride when Mauboy lets loose of her vocal power on the chorus. It then returns to another uptempo number Saturday Night featuring Ludacris which is the album's second single. I'm not sure whether Ludacris actually improves the track but it's still catchy and will have no problem racking up some airplay Get 'Em Girls never could. The album then moves on to a tender ballad with Jay Sean called What Happened To Us which happens to be one of the album's highlights.

The next track opens with a very Coldplay Viva La Vida-esque strings section before it morphs into a very Kristinia DeBarge Powerless type of track lyrically. The next track Like This features yet another big name in the form of Iyaz. This track remains forgettable even after a couple plays. Foreign sees Mauboy return to the urban sound that has enough sass in it to differentiate it from the other urban-sounding number Handle It. Can Anybody Tell Me is a forgettable track. Toss this into the same pile as Like This suffers from.

Fight For You tries to be a cross between Jordin Spark's Battlefield and Cheryl Cole's Fight For This Love but is ultimately not as fierce as the former or brilliant as the latter. Still, don't write this off too soon, it's a grower. Maze is a solid album track that sounds like it could do well as a single but as an album track, it's just like some of the other tracks on the album so it doesn't feel like it's as good as it really is. Here For Me is another solid album track that also has potential to be a single, fitting into current Top 40 radio fare. No One Like You is a sweet ballad that is supposedly about her boyfriend which though is sweet, verges on a little boring. Forget Your Name, the bonus track sees Mauboy's smooth vocals run over a thumping beat and sounds like a fiercer version of Up/Down from her debut album though it's not half as good as the latter.

All in all, it's a solid album with a few standout tracks that do have single potential. Mauboy has the potential to rival Beyonce for her crown as the reigning pop/R&B/urban superstar on the charts if she gets some better material.

Jennifer Hudson dramatically released her new single ‘Where You At’ this week from her upcoming new album ‘I Remember Me’. It was only last week she made the announcement about the LP and its lead single so you can’t help but feel the handling of her project is being a little rushed.

However, the 29-year-old has so far scheduled some big promo including several high profile TV appearances. The first one will be a stop to The Oprah Winfrey show. The Grammy & Oscar winning singer confirmed that she will perform new single ‘Where You At’ live for the first time on the Queen of chat’s platform in February.

Many of us know that this year pop music is going to be flooded with some of the biggest female names in the game. And being the Rihanna is the new "IT" girl my question is can she hold on to her crown.

Rihanna has been running the charts with these last few singles she also been dominating radio however here is where her problems are about to come from.

Britney Spears! The Queen of Pop is back and taking no prisoners with her HUGE new single Debuting on at the top of the charts a week after it was released on radio,expect the video to out due any and everything the Riri has down in the past year.

Jennifer Lopez! i know i know many are like wtf? lol but no one ran the game like J.Lo did she is perhaps the best Triple Threat there is and with her being on American Idol as a judge this season its only going to boost her music career. She has two new singles out "On the Floor" feat Pitbull and "Good Hit" which are two very very strong singles. Both videos have been shot and "on the floor" video will debut on American Idol Feb 2nd.

Lady Gaga! nothing really much to say here, she dominated with her last album "The Fame" we all know her powers.

Beyonce! a former title holder of the games Queen however she has been dethroned for a few years now.her last album "I am Sasha Friece" was good but nothing like "BDay" the only concern here is if she will bring the fire back that she once had? Can she make the world "snap for the kidz" again

Ke$ha! Many of us have under estimated her but her singles have been killing radio and the charts since her 1st single "Tik Tok" and she has done what lady gaga couldn't which is have an album number 1 on the top 200 charts. I believe all her singles have been in the Top 10 some even reached the #1 spot.Her fire is only getting hotter something tells me 2011 is her year.

Katy Perry! is there any song that she releases that wont make it to the top? lol perhaps one of Rihanna's biggest problems besides Britney. Every Loves this chick her music is addicting and  her videos are amazing.

So with all that said do you still thing Rihanna will be on top for much longer? can she survive all these ladies at one time? one thing is for sure a few of these ladies will be taken out and i highly doubt Britney's name will be on the #dead list that only leaves the rest.

RuPauls Drags Race Season 3

The race is back on!


Season 3 of Logo's hit show Rupauls Drag Race premiered Monday night with a bang.Although the official ratings weren't posted yet but sources say that the premiere is up 33% higher than Season 2's premiere.This is huge in the LGBT community, to have such a mainstream show that is doing good rating wise could and mostly likely will open so many more doors.

This season Thirteen drag queens compete for the title of "America's Next Drag Superstar", a spot on the Absolut Tour, a lifetime supply of makeup from Kryolan and $75,000 cash prize. Changes also made in the new season included Michelle Visage replacing Merle Ginsberg at the judge's table. A wildcard contestant was introduced as Shangela Wadley from season two returned to compete again, the first contestant to make a return visit. A new pitcrew was also introduced. Additionally, in a coincidental and unintended reality show cross-over, former America's Next Top Model photo shoot make-up artist Sutan Amrull (who had appeared on-camera as Tyra Banks's drag double in Cycle 6) auditioned and was selected to compete in his drag alter ego, Raja.

Amy Winehouse records duet with Cee-Lo Green!!!!

UK sensation Amy Winehouse recorded a duet with Cee Lo Green for her upcoming new album. The 26-year-old is said to have flown to St Lucia to join the soul man and the pair “clicked immediately”. ‘Back To Black’ is one of those albums in my CD collection that will never draw dust and cobwebs. Having to wait four painstaking years for a new album from Wino was not an easy process. We may have had the one or two drunken antics from Wino, but the main importance is that she’s been looking healthier and her voice does sound like its in fine form (I’m actually judging from her recent Brazilian comeback concerts). It’s pretty much safe to say, music just got interesting.

DWJOJO: Tell us a little bit about you and how you grew up.

Well unlike alot of rappers who lie about being from the projects and sellin crack and all the other shit i grew up in racine wisconsin to a two parent household ya dig we didnt always have the flyest things but for the most part i had a good up bringing and grew up with alot of my cousins ya know but for the most part im happy with my child hood

DWJOJO: When did music become apart of your life?

At age 16 when i went to a ludacris concert i saw how he rocked that crowd and i always been good with words so it like fell right into place for me well at least in my head you know every rapper think they the shit when they first start out but music speaks to people in ways the law cant or your parents cant at the end of the day people live like they hear about the most so basically it attracted me as sort of a release from the problems and stress of life

DWJOJO:  Tell us about how you came up with the name Mula

Well to be honest my cousin pretty gave me that name cuz at one time i was head first out here in these streets but only for short while i ran with it cuz ever since i was 13 i started the 9-5 thing and ever since i have kept at least one job  and at this point i still have 2 because i aint gonna suffer for nobody i was one of the lucky ones who never felt a lil bit of the recession so thats how my name came about it sums up my life

DWJOJO:  In one sentence describe your music.

DWJOJO:  What song of yours would you best say people who listened to it would have a understanding of the man behind the music?

well i really cant say that i only have one because anytime u really recording and want to spit sum real shit u gotta speak from your own perspecticve so thats really hard to say but if i had to say one i would say it is Racine County and i say that because its where i was born and raised and it made me who i am today and ive been to over 20 states and nobody can do it like we can  racilla stand up

DWJOJO:  In the world of Hip Hop mainstream artist who would you have to say is the most innovative? The most respected? The most commercial?

I think the most innovative besides him makin human mistakes is ti.  the most respected is wayne i think cuz he works the hardest. and well 75 percent of these niggaz is commercial half of em aint even writin they own shit u feel me a true musician can write hits by themself thats just how i feel

DWJOJO:  What can we expect from you in the year of 2011?

Britney becomes just the second artist in the Billboard Hot 100′s 52-year history to debut multiple songs at No. 1, as “Hold It Against Me” blasts in at the summit.

Spears previously launched at the apex with “3″ the week of Oct. 24, 2009. She joins Mariah Carey as the only acts to arrive at No. 1 more than once. Carey made such grand entrances with “Fantasy” and “One Sweet Day” in 1995 and “Honey” in 1997. (All charts will be refreshed tomorrow (Jan. 20) on Billboard.com).

“Hold It Against Me” is the 18th song to debut at No. 1 and the first since Ke$ha ”We R Who We R” the week of Nov. 13, 2010.

The track is Spears’ fourth No. 1 on the Hot 100. Prior to “3,” she reigned with her debut single “…Baby One More Time” (two weeks, 1999) and “Womanizer” (one week, 2008).

“Hold It Against Me” starts atop Digital Songs with 411,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. As previously reported, the sum marks the highest debut frame by a lead female artist, besting the 325,000 shifted by Taylor Swift’s ”Today Was a Fairytale” the week of Feb. 6, 2010.

On Radio Songs, “Hold It Against Me” begins at No. 23 with 45 million first-week audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS. The song’s No. 23 entrance is the chart’s best since Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body” began at the same rank the week of March 1, 2008.

Remembering Aaliyah (Jan 16, 1979 - August 25, 2001)

On this day in 1979, Aaliyah Dana Haughton was born. Known simply as Aaliyah, the so-called "Princess of R&B" would have been 32 years old today. She died along with eight other people in 2001 when the plane she was on crashed in the Bahamas, but not before helping define a sound. Despite her youth, in the years leading up to her tragic death Aaliyah changed the face of R&B, first with R. Kelly, who signed her, and then, more prominently, with producer Timbaland andrapper Missy Elliott, who helped her craft some of the most innovative -- and freaky -- hits of the decade.

It's one of those latter collaborations, "Try Again," that's embedded above. The song, a jerky, catchy, electro-R&B jam, was released in 2000, and went to No. 1 on the Billboard singles chart. And why wouldn't it? Check the video above. The song is instantly sticky, with its robo-bluster tone, squirrelly synth lines, off-kilter rhythm and Aaliyah's delicate voice offering the advice, "If at first you don't succeed, pick yourself up and try again." Her voice was never huge, but it had a kind of urgency all its own.

Cheryl Cole has reportedly purchased a $2.2 million apartment in Beverly Hills, only five minutes from Fox TV Studios.Aside from the apartment, which we think is a pretty big sign that she's on board for the U.S. X-Factor, Fox boss Peter Rice has said that he thinks Cheryl is "a terrific judge."
Sounds like all the pieces are there! We'll be VERY surprised if she doesn't end up as a judge on the show.

But don’t be sad, there are new shows that are going to replace it like:

Basically on Disney Channel this new year, we will expect a lot of new “stupid” cartoons to replace our once favorite shows. (Trust me they are not the same as the 90s cartoon I grew up to, how I miss those). Guess this is the best Disney Channel can come up with to replace the Sprouse twins, Miley Cyrus,and Selena Gomez when their show ends. I have no interest in any of these cartoons. Well guess I am sticking to Nickelodeon now for ICarly and Big Time Rush (till those end).

Aubrey O'day was in what could have been the biggest girl group the USA every had Im talking about Danity Kane. But sadly the group disbanded a few years ago by boss Diddy. Millions of fans were pissed including us at DWJojo.

But Oday seems to really be the only one besides Dawn(former group member) to be making it known that she is not going anywhere. She is officaily a solo artist and is currently working on her Solo Debut.She also just shot her New Reality Show which will be premiering March 7th 2011 on Monday Nights on the Oxygen channel.

I think the music industry needs someone like her as a solo artist.unlike so many new artist Aubrey can sing write and dance her ass off.Im really looking forward to see what she will bring as a solo act.!

Janet Jackson sold out Gibson Amphitheatre in less than 10 minutes, adds additional date

Janet Jackson fans really couldn’t wait to see the pop diva.

After tickets to the April 14 Los Angeles date of her newly announced "Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour" went on sale at 10 a.m. Friday morning, they sold out in less than 10 minutes, according to a spokesman for Live Nation.

To try to keep up with the demand, Jackson and Live Nation have added an additional Gibson Amphitheatre performance for Friday, April 15.
Jackson previously made news when she broke Beyonce’s attendance record when headlining the 2010 Essence Music Festival. After selling out the Louisiana Superdome -- where the annual festival is held -- Jackson reportedly commanded the first-ever waiting list for the Festival with additional seats erected and sold behind the stage.
The "Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour" is her first tour since 2008’s brief "Rock Witchu Tour," which suffered numerous canceled dates due to poor ticket sales.

For this trek, Jackson called on her fans to vote for the 35 cities (one for each of her 35 No. 1 hits) that would constitute the itinerary, with dates in Singapore, Hong Kong and Manila being the first to be announced.
"These concerts will be different from anything I have ever done. I will be as up close and personal as possible," Jackson said in a statement. "These concerts are not about special effects. This is a love affair between me and those of you who have supported me and my work for all these years. I'll be singing and dancing from my heart. The music will all be songs that you've made number ones for me. Let's go!”
Tickets for her second L.A. date are on sale through Live Nation and Ticketmaster.

The music of today is nothing compared to the music of yesterday. Budget's may be bigger, but the talent is smaller. Remember when being apart of a group was the hot thing to do? Today's OLD SCHOOL SATURDAY comes from 90's recording group XSCAPE  "Who Can I Run To?"

"Turn it Up" is Ciara next Single.

Ciara’s fourth single from her underperforming new album ‘Basic Instinct’ is the Usher assisted ‘Turn It Up’. "Turn it Up" goes for radio adds on March 8th.Which seems a little late for me that song should be already on its way to radio and she should be shooting the vid 3 mins ago March just sees late we still in Jan. I’m not understanding why they are waiting so late to release it. The uptempo pop anthem is finally getting the single treatment, which should have been released much sooner.

It’s highly likely that her album sales would have recieved a much better result if ‘Turn It Up’ was put in the place of ‘Gimmie Dat’. Who cares if she needs to rely on her labelmates Usher and Justin Timberlake for a hit. Labelmates should be there to help one another. It’s not really their place to do so but as they’re cut from the same industry cloth, it only seems right. Although this is somewhat baffling for an established act like Ciara, sometimes all it takes is a hotfeature for an artists’ new album to be lifted off the ground a little.

I know I know most are wondering why the hell im posting something like this but its media/hollywood, and the golden globes are this sunday.

Imma make this really quick, Emma Stone is now officially the It women in Young Hollywood,a spot that once was filled by none other then Lindsay Lohan Up until last year.For some reason hollywood was not giving up hope that Lohan would get her shit together and prove that she is an amazing Actress but 5 mugshots 6 stints in rehab and 2 jail sentenses later they finally replaced her with yet another red head. Whom is making big waves in the film world.Emma stone is fairly new she has had success with the super funny movies "SuperBad" "The House Bunny" and "ZombieLand". However it took one HUGE movie last year to make her a household name, "Easy A" has to be my fav movie of 2010 and im not the only person who thinks so being that it Emma is nominated for a Golden Globe for it.If you have yet to see this movie please do.Its insanely funny.

Looks like The new Teen "Queen B" isnt playing around with you Lohan, she hasnt even been acting that long and is already being nominated with Alist actresses. Expect to be seeing and hearing alot more from Emma Stone.
